I am the Founder of Getputs. I created Getputs with the aim of building an online personalized news product.
Getputs is a utility to discover, share, and recommend news (or any other type of content including blogs, classifieds, questions/answers)
We are currently building a robust recommendation engine, an innovative bookmarking system, and a powerful alerting/messaging sytem on top of Getputs.
Getputs is named after the legendary Computer Science Functions:

Stoocker

Stoocker is a Stock Recommendation Engine.
The basic idea is to come up with a short-term trading and investment strategy based upon the collective recommendations of Users.
It allows users to:
-> Maintain a Portfolio of stocks.
-> Get updated News about the latest happenings in the Stock Market.
-> Predict the movement of the User's favorite stocks.
-> See what the other users Recommend about the stock movement for tomorrow.
The engine backend is designed to efficiently handle daily stock-market and time-series data.
The algorithm uses Expert Ranking, Weighted Majority, Collaborative Filtering and shallow Technical Time-Series Analysis.
Traders as well as hackers with a background in Computer Science and interest in Finance love this Engine.
The stock recommendations do involve human judgement about stocks mixed with my own algorithms.
The more the users, the better the recommendation results.

Pyramid is an Online Music Sharing System with an inbuilt mechanism to eradicate piracy of music.
A team of 3 designed the prototype for this system.
The model we designed can help contributors and artists earn money based on the number of contributions and popularity of the music they produce.
